Ellen DeGeneres has had a difficult few months, but on today’s episode of her talk show, she revealed that there has been some trouble at home too.

The comedian and wife Portia de Rossi have several pets, and she explained their dog Kid was “trampled” by one of their other pups, resulting in a broken leg.

“OK, so here’s the deal. We have pets. You know we have pets. And we have dogs that run around like crazy. And there’s a lot of pet traffic when that happens,” DeGeneres said at the beginning of the show.

“And sooner or later, there’s bound to be an accident.”

“Over the weekend, our dog Wally, who is, she’s a little over a year, and so she’s a puppy, so she’s got a lot of energy, and she was running full-speed across the lawn.

“Our dog Kid happened to be in the way, and she just trampled over Kid.”

DeGeneres joked the accident was “illegal because the speed limit is 25 when there’s a kid nearby”.

DeGeneres then recounted the process of discovering little Kid in pain as she and de Rossi raced him over to the pet hospital.

“Anyway, so Kid was screaming in pain, and we knew that his leg was broken. It was awful, awful, awful,” she said.

“Kid has to wear that cast for 12 weeks — which is like 84 weeks my time.”

She received laughter and praise for the story from an entirely virtual audience, who had joined to watch the filming of show on Zoom from all over the world.

“You’re virtually the best audience I’ve had all week!” DeGeneres joked about the situation.

This is the second episode back after the show’s US summer hiatus.

In her opening monologue of the season she addressed reports of mistreatment and misconduct behind the scenes at The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

In the seven-minute opener, DeGeneres apologised “to the people that were affected” and said she is “taking responsibility for what happens at my show”.

“As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation,” she said. “I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people that were affected.”

Ellen’s regular programming will continue as the show returns from its summer hiatus.

19 Of The Best Reactions To Locky Reaching Peak Fucc Boi On The Bachie Finale

Well, another Bachelor season has wrapped, and Locky told Bella he loves her before dumping her for Irena.

It might be television’s biggest cop out since the Honey Bagel… um Ham Burglar…uhhh Honey Badger picked no one. Honestly though, this is worse, because now Irena knows her new boyfriend was ALSO in love with Bella. Telling both girls he loved them? Peak fucc boi behaviour if you ask me.

In what felt like an hour and a half of Locky crying and struggling to make a decision, he told us his conundrum: pick Bella who gives him “this feeling” and um has eyes OR pick Irena who is “so gentle” and “can protect me”. In the end, he picked Irena, because he could “see a future” with her.

For *blindingly obvious reason*, Twitter was ticked the fuck off about Locky’s indecision.

Watch Yusuf/Cat Stevens Perform ‘Wild World’ on ‘Colbert’

Yusuf/Cat Stevens celebrated the 50th anniversary of his classic album Tea for the Tillerman — and the release of his new rerecorded version, Tea for the Tillerman² — with a performance of “Wild World” on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

The singer-songwriter and his band were situated in a coffee shop with artwork evoking the Tea for the Tillerman album cover on the walls, showing a young boy and girl climbing a tree. His rendition of the song was fairly straightforward, with an additional waltz section from the new album thrown in the middle. Overall, it sounded just as bright and melodic as the version he recorded 50 years ago at age 22.

Cat Stevens released Tea for the Tillerman² earlier this month, updating songs like “On the Road to Find Out” into a “bluesy banger” and adding a speech from rapper Brother Ali to the track “Longer Boats.” Ahead of the album release, he shared a stop-motion animated video for “Father and Son,” which showed him dueting the song with his younger self.

“‘Father and Son’ feels pretty appropriate for what’s going on right now if you take the father figure as being the establishment,” Yusuf said of the video. “However, I don’t think revolutions are that kind to the previous order, its main objective is to turn it around and to get rid of them. Whereas I don’t personally believe in that; I believe in a kind of a change that would not necessarily destroy everything.”
