Chris Cuomo Tears Up While Discussing Coronavirus Fight: “It’s a Surreal Existence”

The ‘Cuomo Prime Time’ host got emotional while remembering how his son was watching him sleep earlier in the day.

Chris Cuomo returned to airwaves while battling the coronavirus on Friday, during which time he offered an update on his condition, which he called a “surreal existence.”

During an appearance on Anderson Cooper 360 with neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, the Cuomo Prime Time host said of his current condition, “I’m doing better than I deserve. Sanjay told me a few days ago — everything takes a few days to sink in with me — you can’t wake up expecting to be better like you have a cold or or a virus. You get depressed because it’s going to be a long slog and I accept that now. I get that this is going to be a long fight.”

He added, “I know I’m looking at about twice the time I’ve had so far, so that’s what it is. I’m lucky and I’m loved, and I just go day by day.”

When asked whether he’s worried about the virus, Cuomo said that he’s primarily concerned that his wife or children could catch the virus from him. He added that although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have said that 80 percent of people who die from coronavirus in the U.S. are 65 or older, “I see the 80 percent a little differently than I used to.” He said, “I have my kids sending me all these different cutouts on social media of mothers who’d died and 30-year-olds who died and 50-year-olds who died. There’s this acute awareness and appreciation.”

Cuomo added, starting to tear up, “I woke up this morning and I didn’t hear my son’s quad [bike] anymore, he’d been riding around and all of a sudden I didn’t hear it and he was watching me sleep. And I knew he was watching me because he was worried.”

As for his daily routine, Cuomo said that he hasn’t been watching Netflix or keeping up on the news because he has been “so lethargic.” “It’s a really surreal existence,” he said. “It takes all of my energy to do a [segment] like this.”

Later on in the appearance, Cuomo, Cooper and Gupta spoke with Fire Department of New York paradmedic Aline Bocanegra-Reich, who has tested positive for coronavirus and is taking care of two children while her husband is also sick. “Honestly, I am very afraid of going back to work and possibly contracting this again,” she told the group. “Our needs aren’t going to be met, they haven’t been met. We’re in danger every single day and we still have to figure out a way to feed our family because we are paid so poorly.”

Ever since he first revealed that he tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, the Cuomo Prime Time host has offered regular updates on his condition while continuing to host the show from his home. The TV host, who is the brother of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, has shared stories of hallucinations, chipping a tooth, insomnia and losing 13 pounds in three days from sweating so much.

“The best medicine is to not get it. Prevention,” he told Anderson Cooper on March 31.

Tom Ellis signs on for Lucifer season 6 on Netflix!

The fate of Lucifer has hung in the balance for a while. The show, which is about what happens when Satan abandons his throne in hell to become a nightclub owner and part-time police consultant in Los Angeles, had a three-season run on Fox before it was cancelled. The extremely passionate fanbase mounted a campaign to get it picked back up, and mere weeks later, Netflix swooped in for the save. A fourth season followed with a fifth on the way. Netflix wanted to make a sixth, but that plan looked like it was in danger when they couldn’t come to an agreement with star Tom Ellis about a pay raise.

Happily, it looks like that problem has been resolved. TV Line reports that Ellis has signed a new deal. Even though Netflix hasn’t formally announced a sixth season yet, this basically clinches it. The devil will have his due, as will Tom Ellis.

As for the fifth season, we still have no idea when it’s coming out; apparently Netflix ran into some “post-production hiccups” thanks to the coronavirus, which has basically put all of Hollywood in a holding pattern. While we wait for that to work itself out, fan can enjoy deleted scenes from season 4…

….and glimpses behind the set of season 5:

And if it helps, season 5 has been shot, meaning that whatever post-production hiccups the team is having, it’ll at least be out this year. Season 6 is another matter, but let’s just slay one monster at a time.

Netflix’s Dark releases season 3 teaser, reveals premiere date

mm

Published

Netflix has released the first Dark S3 teaser trailer alongside a release date.

After much anticipation, Netflix has finally released the first teaser trailer alongside a release date for its one of the most beloved shows, Dark. The hit German series will be concluding with its third and final season which is set to premiere on June 27. As expected by the majority of the fandom, the show is indeed coming back on the day that is the of the apocalypse on the series.

Dark is a German sci-fi, dystopian, supernatural thriller which debuted back on 2017 and aired its second season last June, the show is set in a German town called Winden, where the disappearance of two kids exposes the relationship among the four families at the show’s core.

What’s happening in the Dark season 3 trailer?

The sophomore season of Dark saw the start of the apocalypse as the town of Winden was being wiped out. The show also introduced the multiverse in the final moments of the season as Martha was shot dead by Adam which will certainly be pivotal in the final season.

The majority of the trailer focuses on these three cleft-lip men, all possibly looking like the same person from different points of time setting fire to Adam’s base. We also get to see a closeup shot of Michael’s suicide letter from the freshman season and there’s also a woman going full-on Urlich on someone (spooky).

The trailer is done in bit of a Nolan’s Tenet style-ish way, so everything seems to be running backward on the trailer. It also seems like the show will continue to explore and delve deeper into the themes of free will and fate.

During an announcement regarding the final season last year, Dark co-creators Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese said that they will offer answers to the questions that the viewers have been asking and help untangle the story through time. While talking about the ending they said, “It will be hard for us to walk away from those characters we have really grown fond of, but the beginning is the end, and the end is the beginning.”

The recent trailer also ended with the tagline, “The final cycle begins”, which instantly changes to “The final cycle ends.”

Dark stars Louis Hofmann, Karoline Eichhorn, Lisa Vicari, Oliver Masucci, Andreas Pietschmann, and Gina Stiebitz among an ensemble of cast.
