Hannity Doesn’t Know How to Pronounce ‘Despacito’ (Video)

Published

on

“Despacito” is a hugely popular song, with the Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee hit pulling just under 7 billion plays on YouTube since it was released in 2017. But Sean Hannity opened his Fox News show on Wednesday with an attempt to clown Joe Biden for playing the song off his phone at a campaign event this week, but instead he played himself.

Biden was introduced at the event, in Kissimmee, Fla., by Fonsi — and he began his comments by pulling out his phone and played a part of “Despacito” into the microphone in a moment that went viral on Wednesday. And Hannity tried to get in on the fun by admitting he apparently doesn’t know anything about the song — the Justin Bieber remix, by the way, was no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 for 16 straight weeks, a record that has only been surpassed by Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.”

In other words, “Despacito” is popular with basically everyone. Except Sean Hannity, apparently.

“First we begin tonight — prepare to crawl out of your skin, because yesterday Joe Biden was trying so hard to pander for Hispanic Americans to vote for him in Florida that he actually started a speech by playing, well, the, it’s the song called ‘Despacito,’ which is on his cell phone,” Hannity said, thoroughly butchering the title of the song.

“That’s a well-known song and some great singers there, it’s a little interesting story behind it.”

“Hannity” then played the clip that went viral of Biden playing the song on his phone.

“Corrected. Despacito,” Hannity said, correctly, after the clip played.

Then Hannity said, in poor Spanish, that he actually studied Spanish in school for three years. And insisted that he does know “porquito” Spanish.

Hannity also talked about this whole deal on his radio show on Wednesday, erroneously crediting the song to Ricky Martin. Martin was also at the event, but he did not perform in “Despacito.”

Buddy Valastro, Cake Boss Star, Impales Hand in Awful Bowling Accident

OUCH!

Cake Boss lead Buddy Valastro revealed on Instagram today that he’s in a lot of pain, but on the mend, after being “involved in a terrible accident” on Sunday.

As you can see here, the accident resulted in the reality star being sent to the hospital over this past weekend;

A representative for Valastro told People Magazine that the mishap took place while the popular chef was spending “quality time” with his family at home, which is equipped with a bowling alley.

“There was a malfunction with the bowling pinsetter, a common fix in the past, but turned into a terrible accident,” this person explained, adding:

“After trying to release the bowling pin from the cage mechanism, his right hand became lodged and compressed inside the unit.

“Unable to remove his hand, he can see a 1-1/2″ metal rod slowly and repeatedly impale his hand three times between his ring finger and middle finger.”

This rep detailed how Valastro was stuck for approximately five minute… until his teenager sons swooped in with reciprocating saw “to cut through the metal rod and relieve his father from the machine.”

Yikes, huh?

Valastro has since had two surgeries performed.

He is recovering at home after being released from the hospital on Wednesday.

“It will be an uphill battle as it’s Buddy’s dominant right hand and he will need prolonged recovery and therapy,” Valastro’s rep says.

The long-time reality star is trying to maintain his sense of humor, at least.

Along with the above picture of himself with a giant cast on his arm, Buddy wrote as a caption:

‘What do you think of my new accessory? #recoveryjourney #positivevibes #ironfist #cakeboss #buddyvalastro.”

Shortly after learning the news, a number of of Valastro’s celebrity chef friends sent him wishes of a speedy recovery in the comments.

Wrote fellow cake expert Duff Goldman, who stars as Valastro’s rival on the baking competition show Buddy vs. Duff:

“Get better homie. You’re gonna need that hand.”

Top Chef’s Brooke Williamson added: “Sending love, get well soon!”

And Emeril Lagasse chimed in with: “Get better quick my friend!”

Hypoluxo – “Nimbus”

Published

Last month, the nervy Brooklyn group Hypoluxo returned with a new single, “Ridden.” It was their first release via Terrible Records’ Flexible Distribution, after a pretty negative run with an old label that, as the story behind “Ridden” goes, almost killed the band. But they survived, and they are in fact coming back with a new album. That album, titled LP3, will be out in November.

Along with today’s announcement, the band has shared another new song called “Nimbus.” It’s apparently a (only partially?) tongue-in-cheek screed against meteorologists rooted in some grim days when frontman Samuel Cogan was working for a delivery service on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Here’s what Cogen had to say about it:

This past winter I picked up a bike delivery job for extra money. Not an easy job to do in the cold, occasionally rainy, New York winter. Easily the most annoying part of the job was how inconsistent the morning weather reports were. One day it poured for hours rather than the sunny day that was promised. While I hid in a overpriced Upper West Side bar soaking wet, and feeling not very welcome by the wealthy older businessmen next to me, I started writing “Nimbus.”

“You can never trust/ You can never trust/ What they say/ Staring at a radar telling you what you want to hear,” Cogen barks. Things escalate quickly: “Knowledge is power,” he continues. It’s probably safe to say this is the most intense song about meteorologists in recent memory, but it’s another jangly post-punk gem from Hypo’s upcoming album either way. Check it out below.

TRACKLIST:

01 “Seth Meyers”
02 “Ridden”
03 “Nimbus”
04 “Tenderloin”
05 “Appetizer”
06 “Night Life”
07 “Pointer Finger”
08 “Shape Ups”
09 “Shock”
10 “Sweat”

LP3 is out 11/20 via Terrible Records’ Flexible Distribution. Pre-order it here.

Will Smith admits he was unhappy with ‘Men In Black’ sequel, says ‘Bad Boys for Life’ isn’t a ‘cash grab’

If you did not like the third ‘Men In Black’ movie which released in 2012, you are not alone. Will Smith, Agent J himself, has confirmed that he was disappointed with the movie and hence he took his time with the sequel for ‘Bad Boys’.

‘Bad Boys For Life’, the third movie in the series, starring Smith and Martin Lawrence, is set to release in theatres next week. In his appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Tonight Show’ on NBC on Thursday night, Smith said how important it was to do the sequel right.

“What we tried to do, that was really critical and important to me, is not try to just do the old movies again,” said Smith, referencing 1995’s ‘Bad Boys’ and 2003’s ‘Bad Boys II’.

“You had to take into consideration the time, had to take into consideration how the characters would have grown. And the reason it took so long is because I didn’t want to make it just as a cash grab. You know, ‘Hey, everybody loves sequels, let’s just do a sequel.’”

Smith then proceeded to throw his past sequels under the bus, saying, “I had fumbled a couple of my last sequels. You know, I wasn’t happy with the ‘Men in Black’ sequel.”

However, Smith has promised that fans will love the upcoming movie. He said with a laugh, “I’m going to keep it real: sometimes I say ‘y’all are gonna love it,’ and y’all not gonna love it.” Smith also added, “You know, ’cause sometimes I’ve seen it, and I know y’all not gonna love it, but it’s an expensive movie. But this time…it is so good.”

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lawrence credited Smith with pushing for the sequel with the right script. Lawrence said, “And he pushed and pushed and pushed for years for them to get the script right. So we finally got the script right, and we did it.”

‘Bad Boys for Life’ is scheduled to be released in the United States on January 17, 2020.
