Jim Carrey to play Joe Biden on ‘SNL’ Season 46

He’s gone from a troublemaker in a green mask to a pet detective — and now actor Jim Carrey has found his latest role for 2020: Joe Biden.

“The Mask” and “Ace Ventura” star, 58, who has long been beloved by audiences, was tapped by NBC to play the Democratic presidential nominee, 77, throughout Season 46 of “Saturday Night Live.”

“There was some interest on his part,” Lorne Michaels, who helms “SNL,” told Vulture. “And then we responded, obviously, positively. But it came down to discussions about what the take was. He and Colin Jost had a bunch of talks. He and I as well. He will give the part energy and strength . . . Hopefully it’s funny.”

The late-night show’s new season will begin on Oct. 3. It will all kick off with five consecutive new shows, but hosts and musical guests have not been announced.

“SNL” will have a limited studio audience when it returns and will also include three new featured players, Lauren Holt, Punkie Johnson and Andrew Dismukes.

Jana Duggar: Has She Been Brainwashed By Her Parents?

The Duggar family is often likened to a cult, and for very good reason.

After all, Jim Bob and Michelle’s children are inculcated with a religious belief system long before they develop the ability to reason for themselves, and then they spend the rest of their lives following a strict set of rules and avoiding outsiders.

Needless to say, that’s all very cultish behavior.

No one in the family ever responds to “cult” allegations, but if they did, they would likely point out that the Duggar children choose to live this way, and they’re free to leave the lifestyle behind any time they want.

Of course, that’s exactly what a cult leader would say, too.

Jana Duggar Courting?

Anyway, among those who believe that the Duggars are on par with Heaven’s Gate and the Manson family, it’s widely agreed that Jana is the one who’s fallen most deeply under Jim Bob and Michelle’s spell.

Jana is still single, and she still lives at home.

Insiders say she does the majority of the housework and shoulders most of the responsibility for the raising of her youngest siblings.

Jana Duggar is Single

Last week, the Duggars teased a courtship announcement, and fans were hopeful that it would finally be Jana’s turn to take a trip down the aisle.

But it turned out that 17-year-old Justin Duggar is the one who’s courting.

We’re sure Jana is very happy for her brother, but fans still wish she had been the one with the big announcement.

Jana Counting On

The news came on the heels of an interview in which Jana clarified that she’s being patient in her continued search Mr. Right.

But fans — many of whom apparently think they know her better than she knows herself — don’t see it that way.

Last week, Jana posted a loving tribute to her mother on the occasion of Michelle’s birthday.

Following this week’s announcement, one fan went back and expressed their frustration with Jana’s continued allegiance to her parents by commenting one word: “brainwashed.”

According to a report from The World News Daily, the comment created quite a stir and was quickly deleted.

But it was up long enough to spark a debate among fans — is Jana really brainwashed?

The answer is, possibly — but no more so than most of her other siblings.

The belief that Jana has been especially victimized by her parents is centered on the idea that she’s been forced to remain at home, while her siblings leave the nest and start families.

But Duggar daughters are taught from a young age that procreation is their primary reason for being, and Jana’s parents would probably prefer that she start a family of her own.

Believe it or not, the decision to remain at home with her overbearing mom and dad appears to be Jana’s

Some of Jana’s sisters are currently in open rebellion against Jim Bob, and yes, she’s probably more “brainwashed” than they are.

But there’s always hope that she’ll one day see the light and realize that she doesn’t need to follow every single one of her parents’ bizarre beliefs in order to be a good person.

Bobby Shmurda Denied Parole

Bobby Shmurda has been denied parole, per a report from TMZ, who say that the rapper was interviewed by the parole board last week. TMZ says that he is now expected to held in prison until the end of his sentence in December 2021.

Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, was arrested in 2014. In 2016, he accepted a plea deal to avoid trial on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and drug and weapons possession. He was sentenced to seven years in prison, with credit given for the two years he had already served. In 2017, he was given an additional four-year sentence for attempting to smuggle a shank into prison, which is running concurrently with his ongoing sentence.

Rumors of a possible hearing started swirling last month, but the hearing was delayed until recently.

‘1917’ actor Dean-Charles Chapman says he got ‘so many reality checks’ while shooting the war film

Dean-Charles Chapman plays the role of Lance Corporal Tom Blake in the war drama ‘1917’ directed by Sam Mendes. MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) caught up with the actor at the red carpet of the 25th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles for his insight on the movie.

He shared about the ups and downs of shooting the film and his hope for the Oscar nominations.

Chapman revealed that the most rewarding part of shooting the film “was when we all knew that we finally got a take successful because it’s something that we’d rehearse for six months long.”

“It really is a dance between the camera and the actors. All of it’s choreographed and it’s very difficult to show. There were a lot of mistakes that were made in the making of it, but when we all know that we’ve got it perfect, everybody was high-fiving and celebrating and it all paid off at that moment,” he shared.

When asked what moment or part in the film was difficult behind the scenes that people wouldn’t know about when watching the scene, Chapman said, “All of it was really difficult.”

“But there’s one moment in the no man’s land sequence with Blake and Scofield — I don’t think anyone would realize how difficult that actually is to walk in the conditions, the conditions we’re filming, and we’re very realistic,” he added.

Speaking humbly about acting out a scene versus the men that actually had to go through this, Chapman emphasized, “When filming the film, you get so many reality checks and you would realize that this is nothing compared to what their men actually fought in.”

“We had it so much easier compared to the real men. We got to take the costume off. We got to have a shower, go to bed in a nice bed — the men were actually living in it,” he added.
