Miley Cyrus ‘Initiated’ Split From Cody Simpson: He ‘Didn’t Want the Relationship to End’

Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson were not on the same page when it came to ending their relationship. “It’s true, Miley and Cody are over,” a music source close to the songstress exclusively tells In Touch. “I did hear that Miley initiated the breakup. Cody didn’t want the relationship to end, but Miley calls the shots.”

The two singers seemed head over heels for each other, but it sounds like the relationship simply ran its course for the 27-year-old songwriter. “I’m hearing that nothing major happened, no other party broke them up,” the insider continued. “She had a lot of fun with Cody, but she decided it was best to go their separate ways and remain friends.”

Back in March, everything appeared to be going fabulously for the couple. At the time, they debuted matching tattoos, showing how serious their romance was getting after going public in October 2019.

In April, she served as his personal groomer amid the coronavirus lockdown by buzzing his hair off, and Cody, 23, couldn’t have looked more pleased with the final look. That same month, he raved over how incredible it has been to have the “Can’t Be Tamed” performer around.

“Being with Miley is a wonderful thing in my life,” the Australian heartthrob told The Sydney Morning Herald. “She is creative and inspiring, fiercely independent and encourages me to be my own person, too. We are both creative individuals who support one another with our work.”

As for whether wedding bells were in the future, he wasn’t sure. “I believe in marriage but haven’t thought too much about that. I am far too young to consider it, to be honest,” Cody said.

Miley found comfort in the arms of the “Golden Thing” singer following her public split from The Hills alum Kaitlynn Carter and breakup from ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. She and Liam finalized their divorce back in January 2020.

“Miley and Cody are old friends,” another insider previously told In Touch after fans learned about their budding romance back in October. “Right now she needs someone she can trust and rely on and Cody is that guy, he gets her,” the source said. “He’s super sweet, tall and Australian — just like her ex Liam. So there’s that!”

Even though their love story is over, they will certainly have plenty of fond memories to look back on!

In Touch has reached out to Miley and Cody for comment.

RHOA: NeNe Leakes’ vague tweets don’t make her look good

Another day, another threatening tweet from NeNe Leakes about how she always took one for the team but is that really the case?

While NeNe Leakes insists she hasn’t been fired and is always in “contract negotiations” with Bravo, her twitter feed tells a different story.  Since contracts for The Real Housewives of Atlanta season 13 have most likely gone out and filming with the new cast members has been spotted…is NeNe actually, finally, thankfully, done?

Normally when a Bravo star is in negotiations, it’s in their best interest to keep a low profile.  NeNe, however, loves to make a huge deal about nothing and blow up her spot before it’s even her spot.

Perhaps back in the day, she had a better position to negotiate from, but now she just gets angry and calls people names.  The most recent tweet was no different.  NeNe said he has protected everyone and covered things up for years, while she took the punishment so others didn’t have to.

She said no one protected her or stood up for her in her time of need, they just turned the other cheek.  ‘You are NOT exempted from getting this same treatment 1 day.”  Is this one for Kandi Burruss?

While NeNe was an integral part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta for a long time, her presence doesn’t seem to bring anything to the table anymore.  In fact, after her incident with the cameraman in a previous season, the relationship between NeNe and the show seems to have all but soured.

Last season none of her castmates even wanted to film with her.  She drummed up some drama about a fake recording to get some filming time with the other ladies, but she got called out at the reunion to say there never was a recording.

Since NeNe faced 0 repercussions for her actions against the cameraman, it certainly does seem that she was protected…by many people.  Your work here might be done, NeNe.  And you might be the only one to blame for it.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be back on Bravo later this year.

Lifetime is stepping up their holiday movie game. The channel, which often airs traditional family Christmas movies each season, is finally featuring an LGBTQ couple in their holiday lineup for the very first time this year with the film The Christmas Setup. When the movie was first announced this summer, we had no idea who our mystery leads would be, but we finally have an answer — and it turns out that the two stars have a sweet love story of their own. Ben Lewis and Blake Lee, a real-life couple, will star as the film’s romantic leads, The Advocate reports.

The Christmas Setup follows two men who fall in love by chance over the holidays. Lewis will play Hugo, a New York corporate lawyer who travels to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, over the holidays. He takes his best friend, Madelyn (Ellen Wong) with him on the trip to visit his mom, Kate (Fran Drescher).

Kate, being the matchmaker she is, seizes on the opportunity to set her son up while he’s in town. She arranges for Hugo to run into his old crush, Patrick (Lee), who’s back home taking a break from his big tech job in Silicon Valley. Just when the two begin to couple up, they have to make a tough choice when Hugo is presented with a job opportunity all the way in London.

While they’ll play a blossoming couple in The Christmas Setup, Lewis and Lee have been together for years now and got married in 2016. The couple first met at the Scott Pilgrim vs. the World premiere in 2010, when they ran into each other in the bathroom of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. After seeing Lewis, Lee, who had a starring role in the film, went back to his seat, where he joked to his to friend, “I just met the man I’m going to marry — at the urinal.”

The Christmas Setup is just one of 30 new films set to debut as part of Lifetime’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime holiday movie slate. While the romantic seasonal film doesn’t have a premiere date just yet, Lifetime will begin rolling out its holiday lineup next month, starting Oct. 30.
