Ryan Reynolds Turns Hugh Jackman’s New Coffee Commercial Into One Big Troll

Published

on

The loving feud between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman continues. Former Wolverine actor Jackman originally launched Laughing Man Coffee in 2011 and recently enlisted his friend Reynolds to narrate a new commercial for the company. As one might expect, Reynolds used the opportunity to not only highlight the benefits of the coffee brand, but also to take a few jabs at Jackman in the process.

Hugh Jackman shared the ad on social media with the caption, “An honest glimpse into a day in my life.” The video has Jackman waking up to start his day, with Ryan Reynolds providing some voiceover, listing off some of his impressive accomplishments. While the narration is flattering, what Jackman is doing on-screen contradicts what is being said at every turn. Between yelling at kids on the street, being rude to his dog and throwing his alarm clock, Jackman contradicts the image many of us have of him in our minds. That is until it all comes back around at the end. Reynolds shared the video on his YouTube channel with the following message.

“Hugh Jackman founded Laughing Man coffee so he could give back 100% of his profits to the fair trade farmers who grow it, and also to make himself way less of an asshole. That coffee is actual magic.”

Ryan Reynolds previously produced an ad for Laughing Man Coffee last year, with Jackman returning the favor, in hilarious fashion, by making one, albeit in a less caring way, for Aviation Gin. The alcohol company, similarly, has proved to be a successful venture for Reynolds, who recently sold it for a huge sum. Aside from being a beloved actor, Reynolds is constantly proving himself to be an expert marketer and a savvy businessman.

Best known for his role as Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds helped make the movies a huge hit by being an active participant in the marketing campaigns. The actor also has a stake in several businesses, including Mint Mobile. Once again proving his savviness, Reynolds managed to pull Rick Moranis out of retirement for a Mint Mobile commercial, marking Moranis’ first appearance in front of the camera in years. Whatever loving jabs Hugh Jackman and Reynolds may trade with one another online, there is no question that this is probably a good business move for Laughing Man Coffee. Not to mention a great deal of fun for their fans.

As for what they’re both up to beyond this, Hugh Jackman is done with Wolverine but is keeping busy. He has wrapped filming the thriller Reminiscence and is also set to star in a new biopic on Enzo Ferrari directed by Micahel Mann. Ryan Reynolds, meanwhile, is still hoping to get Deadpool 3 off the ground now that Disney is in control of the franchise. He has completed Free Guy, which is currently set to arrive in December, though it may be delayed to 2021. Reynolds also recently got back to filming Red Notice for Netflix with Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot. Be sure to check out the commercial from Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube channel.

Farrah Abraham: I Am a Strong Widow and I NEVER Should Have Been Fired from Teen Mom!

Published

on

By

Can you believe that it’s almost been three years since Farrah Abraham was fired from Teen Mom OG?

It’s tough to believe that it’s been so long since the worst hate crime of reality television history took place.

Remember that, how Farrah kept calling it a hate crime?

As if you could ever forget.

If the details are a little foggy, that may be because we still don’t know exactly what happened.

On the show, we saw a producer tell Farrah that she was too difficult to work with, and that she was too rude to crew members.

We’ve heard from Farrah that she was told that she couldn’t continue to do adult entertainment while she was on the show, and she made the choice to leave.

But while she has sometimes claimed she quit, she has also claimed that she was wrongfully fired, so …

It seems like there’s a bit of truth to all of those things, and that MTV ultimately decided that it wasn’t worth it to keep working with her.

So why are we even talking about all of this if it happened three years ago?

Farrah Abraham Undergoes Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Because Farrah’s still mad about it.

On Instagram, she shared a clip from her very last episode of Teen Mom, and for the caption … well, she really expressed a lot of things in the caption.

We’re about to get into it, but real quick — we’d be here all day if we pointed out every single time she made a typo or misspelled something, so for the sake of authenticity and our own sanity, we’ll transcribe it exactly as it was originally written, sound good?

Farrah began her rant by writing that “MORGAN CALLED ME AFTER” the scene where she was fired, and he “gave me an ultimatum Teen mom or Adult Entertainment & I chose ‘FARRAH ABRAHAM.'”

Farrah After Botox

“Ladies becoming of age journey does not ever mean you have to succumb to a mans mediocrity like the other teen moms have in every way.”

She’s really starting off strong, huh? “Becoming of age journey”?

As you can see, this time around she’s going with the version of the story where she decided to quit, and she’s even managed to get in an insult to her former castmates already.

Good start!

Farrah Abraham Gestures Excitedly

Next, she wrote “I was told by Ben Hurvitz at Viacom to have fun on this show after they wrongly fired my 8 year female story producer for no reason yet other moms have their producers as god moms of their kids & the rest of the female executives were gone who supported female perspectives.”

She’s talking about her old producer, Heather, who was fired too. Some people say she was fired because she’d gotten too close with Farrah, and Farrah’s ex, Simon Saran, claimed that Amber Portwood had gotten her fired, but that’s a whole different story.

Anyway, back to this rant.

“Odd Morgan’s choice of words and lying to my face and the world about who I am, the hardest worker, a woman whose been kicked when she’s down, who shows kindness and giving but I’m not giving my life to false story and failed justice and against the reason I joined this show,” she said.

Farrah Ex on the Beach

We … we got nothing for that part.

“It’s weird,” she continued, “how men try to make a widowed famous teen mom out to be a porn star yet their the ones who watch porn and I didn’t switch careers nor is a career sexually transmitted.”

“Clearly poor type casting example again.”

OK, so she’s definitely not a widow. It’s tragic, of course, that Sophia’s father died, but they weren’t married, and they weren’t even dating at the time of his death.

Also … she did star in a porn? Like that’s a fact?

For Farrah’s next point, she said that “The rest of the women on crew infected with the evil neuroses created fake scenes, drama, disrespected my parenting, disregarded my boundaries from counseling and created fights in front of my daughter.”

“This mom chooses her child over everything,” she added.

OK.

Farrah and Sophia Pic

“On top of being fired on a day I wasn’t scheduled to work and production not finishing out their own contract I boiled this down to white male privilege, careers are not sexually transmitted,” she wrote.

“I do not have to conform to gender norms, and like the fellow woman who wish to have my fame, wealth, life and strength and instead live in a failed reality of ‘family, friends, on a crew’ entertainment business is strictly business, as always talent on my past shows have learned from me if you want a better contract, legal protection, professional atmosphere then business is business.”

“Not a network family,” she stressed, “it’s business.”

Farrah Abraham for WEtv

She finished things off with another jab at the current Teen Mom gang, saying “It’s pathetic Teen Mom never grew with their lead talent (myself).”

“My brand shows beyond woman not having to conform to gender norms, not allowing reverse physiology from privileged men, that I’m blessed to be the 1 woman out of them all who wanted better for all of the network.”

That reverse physiology, that’s a killer, huh?

And how wild is it that she thinks she was the “lead talent” on that show?

Farrah Abraham Deep in Thought

There’s so much to unpack here, it’s hard to know where to start.

It’s hard to decipher what she’s trying to say in most of it, too.

But the gist seems to be that she’s still mad that she was cut from the show — or we guess that she felt like she was forced to leave.

She also still clearly believes that there was a lot of discrimination at play.

Why is she even thinking about all of this in the first place, let alone enough to post this entire rant on social media?

That, like many things involving the inner workings of Farrah’s mind, is something we may never understand.

Bill Murray’s Lawyer Responds To Doobie Brothers’ Legal Notice, Offers Golf Shirts

Published

on

By

The other day, we learned that Bill Murray’s golf apparel brand, William Murray Golf, was using the Doobie Brothers’ “Listen To The Music” without permission to advertise its new Zero Hucks Given golf shirt. The Doobies’ lawyer, Peter T. Paterno of King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano LLP, sent a humorous legal threat to Murray to get him to pay up. suggesting that he change the name of the shirt to Zero Bucks Given. “We’d almost be OK with it if the shirts weren’t so damn ugly,” the letter concluded. “But it is what it is. So in the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, ‘Au revoir Golfer. Et payez!’”

Now, The Wrap reports, Bill Murray’s lawyer has responded with a goofy letter of his own. “Your negative comments about their fashionableness are especially disconcerting to all of us — especially considering 75% of my wardrobe consists of William Murray polos, shorts and pants,” the letter from attorney Alexander Yoffe reads. “Color me biased, but the consensus on this side of the table is that Bill and the brothers have some of the most clever and creative lifestyle wear available.”

To settle the dispute, Murray is offering … golf shirts. “Please provide us with the shirt size for yourself, Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, Michael McDonald, and John McFee, along with which of our client’s shirts you find the least offensive, and we will happily upgrade your wardrobes and hopefully win each of you over as new fans of the brand,” Yoffee continues. “At least that’s ‘what this fool believes.’” Read the full response below.

Dear Mr. Paterno,

Our firm represents W.M. Golf, Inc., d/b/a “William Murray Golf”. First, I would like to compliment you on finding levity in the law at a time when the world and this country certainly could use a laugh. Your client’s demand was able to cut through the noise of the news cycle and remind us how much we all miss live music these days.

We would also like to confirm that both our firm, and the good folks at William Murray Golf, are indeed fans of the Doobie Brothers’ music, which is why we appreciate your firm’s choice of “Takin’ It To The Streets”, rather than to the courts, which are already overburdened “Minute By Minute” with real problems.

I am sure that Howard King of your firm, who argued that the song “Blurred Lines” (Robin Thicke, Pharrell Williams and T.I.) did not infringe on Marvin Gaye’s composition “Got To Give It Up”, would agree that your client was not harmed under these circumstances.

All that to say, your negative comments about their fashionableness are especially disconcerting to all of us — especially considering 75% of my wardrobe consists of William Murray polos, shorts and pants. Color me biased, but the consensus on this side of the table is that Bill and the brothers have some of the most clever and creative lifestyle wear available.

In the immortal words of Mr. Murray — the more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything… so let’s pour one up and unwind with a listen of the recently-released “Quadio” box set and plan to cross paths at a Doobie Brothers’ 50th anniversary show in 2021 when some level of normalcy resumes.

As your client so aptly stated in this classic song in question, “What the people need is a way to make them smile” — which both Bill and the Doobies have been doing for decades, as world-class entertainers.

Please provide us with the shirt size for yourself, Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, Michael McDonald, and John McFee, along with which of our client’s shirts you find the least offensive, and we will happily upgrade your wardrobes and hopefully win each of you over as new fans of the brand.

At least that’s “what this fool believes”.

Timothée Chalamet to play Bob Dylan in biopic focusing on the icon’s shift from folk to rock music

Published

Timothée Chalamet, one of the hottest young talents in Hollywood at present, will be portraying renowned music legend, Bob Dylan, in a new drama set to be directed by James Mangold and fans have been celebrating the match made in heaven on social media.

The new Searchlight Pictures film will follow Dylan as he rises in fame and popularity on his way to becoming a beloved folk music icon in America.

It is expected to be set in the 1960s time period, and include the famous incident when the seminal singer made his much-publicized shift away from folk music to rock n’ roll music, often known as the “Dylan goes Electric at the Newport Festival” debacle.

According to a report by Deadline, director James Mangold, best known for helming the Oscar-winning Johnny Cash biopic ‘Walk The Line’ in 2005 and the recent car-racing drama, ‘Ford V. Ferrari’ in 2019, has been confirmed as the director of the new Bob Dylan feature in 2020.

Timothée Chalamet, who will be playing the young troubadour when he first burst onto the music scene in the early 1960s, is already set for an extremely busy year. He recently starred as Laurie in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Little Women’ adaptation and has appeared in Netflix’s historical drama ‘The King’ as well.

Chalamet will also be the centerpiece lead of Denis Villeneuve’s star-packed ‘Dune’ reboot in 2020, and is even slated to appear in the new forthcoming Wes Anderson project called ‘The French Dispatch’.

Bob Dylan was fondly celebrated more than half a century ago as the “spokesman of a generation” and for playing American people’s music (folk music) for the musical-yarn-loving folk back then.

He was a legendary poet and wandering minstrel who captured the heart of the American zeitgeist during the 1960s with his honest, homespun lyrics and simplistic guitar-playing style.

Dylan is said to be actively collaborating with Searchlight and Mangold on the film as an advisor.

Searchlight Pictures have said the new project is still untitled, but it is said to have been touted around Hollywood as the ‘Going Electric’ project, presumably a reference to Bob Dylan’s ill-fated appearance at the traditionally acoustic Newport Folk Festival.

In 1965, Dylan, then the world’s most popular folk singer, traded his acoustic guitar in for an electric guitar and was roundly booed by the crowd for abandoning his politically-charged musical roots for what had been dubbed the “latest craze” of the time — electric guitar music, which was then being popularized by people like Chuck Berry and the Beatles.

While Dylan’s rock music crossover created a huge outcry and furor, his embracing of a raw musical genre that was still in its infancy at the time helped catapult rock music to the forefront of popular culture and helped define a new musical era for future generations to come.
