The Breaking Bad Heisenberg hint you never noticed

Published

on

“ABQ,” the 13th episode of Breaking Bad‘s second season, puts Walter Jr.’s website for his father, savewalterwhite.com, front and center. Having seemingly raised a substantial amount of money for Walter’s treatments, the site has gained no small amount of attention. Of course, no one’s actually donating — Saul Goodman has used the site as a way to launder Walter’s money, but he can’t exactly go around saying that.

Walter’s brother-in-law, Hank, decides to get in on the action, taking a collection jar to his workplace to try to raise some extra funds. But Hank works at the DEA, and throughout the series, he’s been hot on the trail of meth kingpin known as Heisenberg, without realizing that his quarry is actually Walter. In one shot, Hank lifts the jar so that it’s positioned in front of a “wanted” poster seeking information regarding Heisenberg’s real identity. Little does Hank know at the time that the answer is right under his nose — the same man whose life he’s trying to save is the same one he’s trying to put in prison.

All these years later and there are still Breaking Bad details to decipher. And if you need to spend more time in the Breaking Bad universe, then make sure to check out Better Call Saul. The sixth and final season is set to debut in 2021.

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie spoke to Prince Charles and the Queen to celebrate Harry’s birthday.
  • Archie “delighted” Prince Charles by calling him “Pa.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently living in California after stepping down from official royal duties over in England—and thanks to the pandemic, they haven’t been able to visit Harry’s family. But! The Duke and Duchess have made sure their son Archie is keeping in touch with the royals, and apparently he celebrated Harry’s recent birthday on a Zoom call with Prince Charles.

According to a source who spoke to The Sun, Archie chatted with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles on a special call and “delighted” Charles by calling him “Pa.”

“It was very pleasant,” the source said. “Harry told the family how much he missed them. Meghan baked a cake and Harry blew out candles. Archie made them laugh when he also blew them out.”

This sounds incredibly sweet, but if you’re wondering whether Prince William and Kate Middleton were also on the call, the answer appears to be no—with the source saying, “It was a bit awkward that William and Kate weren’t there.”

Before you scream “ROYAL FEUD” at your computer/phone, Meghan and Harry were actually planning to spend the summer vacationing with the royals—including William and Kate—in Balmoral, and Harry was “upset” to have missed out on the trip due to the pandemic. In other words, if they were about to vacation together, we can probably assume all is well-ish!

Ellen DeGeneres Addressed Toxic Work Environment Allegations in Her Season Premiere Monologue

  • Ellen DeGeneres addressed toxic work environment allegations against The Ellen DeGeneres Show during her season 18 premiere monologue.
  • She took responsibility and apologized to those she hurt.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is back, and Ellen DeGeneres wasted no time in addressing the allegations that she fostered a toxic work environment in which racism, sexual harassment, and bullying were commonplace.

Starting off the first monologue of season 18, Ellen said:

“As you may have heard, this summer there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should have happened. I take that very seriously and I want to say I am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realized that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”

She went on to acknowledge her position as the boss of 27o employees and the face of the show. “This is The Ellen DeGeneres Show. I am Ellen DeGeneres. My name is there, my name is there, my name is on underwear,” she added. “We have had a lot of conversations over the last few weeks about the show, our workplace, and what we want for the future.” And when she said that the show “made the necessary changes” and is “starting a new chapter,” she applauded along with her virtual audience.

Ellen also spoke about how these allegations are especially troubling since she built her show off of being kind. “Being known as the ‘be kind’ lady is a tricky position to be in,” she admitted. The host went on to say, “The truth is I am that person that you see on TV. I am also a lot of other things. Sometimes I get sad, I get mad, I get anxious, I get frustrated, I get impatient—and I am working on all of that. I am a work in progress.”

Ellen wrapped up her opening segment by saying her intentions are always to be the best person she can be, and she apologized to those she let down.

In August, the company’s internal investigation concluded with Ellen addressing her staffers via video conference to apologize and confirm producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman were fired. Andy Lassner, however, will return and made that clear in a video statement in which he reduced the allegations to “stuff.”

Anyway, season 18 is upon us, and Ellen said she’s ready to move on and be a better boss. TBD on what her former and current employees who came forward about the work environment think of all this.

‘GoT’ star Kit Harington is done playing ‘masculine’ hero roles

He’s no hero.

Actor Kit Harington, who famously played “Game of Thrones” protagonist Jon Snow for nearly a decade, is not interested in playing those roles anymore.

In an interview with the Telegraph, he explained why he’s not interested in portraying the male “hero” on-screen these days.

“I feel that emotionally men have a problem, a blockage, and that blockage has come from the Second World War, passed down from grandfather to father to son,” Harington, 33, told the British newspaper.

“We do not speak about how we feel because it shows weakness, because it is not masculine. Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel going forward that is a role I don’t want to play anymore,” he said.

“It is not a masculine role that the world needs to see much more of,” he said.

‘Having portrayed a man who was silent, who was heroic, I feel going forward that is a role I don’t want to play anymore.’

The character Jon Snow has qualities of a classic hero: righteous, courageous and stoic. Harington said that he intends to move on from such roles, in search of more complex men to play on-screen — ones more like himself, although he said he had contributed “a certain self-reflective, introverted broodiness” to Snow’s personality.

The British actor also opened up about his “gender fluid” childhood, sharing how his mother, former playwright Deborah Jane Catesby, guided her sons on issues of gender politics.

“I asked for a Mighty Max, and she bought me a Polly Pocket,” Harington said. “I asked for an Action Man, and I got a doll — it was very gender fluid from the word go. And I went with it.”

Harington can currently be seen guest-starring in the Netflix police drama series “Criminal,” now in its second season. He’ll also appear in the new Marvel flick “The Eternals,” alongside Angelina Jolie, Kumail Nanjiani and Richard Madden (Robb Stark in “GoT”), scheduled for release next year.
