The Royal Family Wishes Prince Harry a Virtual Happy Birthday

On Tuesday, Prince Harry celebrates his 36th birthday, and it’s the first time the date has come around since he and wife Meghan Markle left their roles as senior royals and decamped to America. Though the move caused plenty of family tension, Queen Elizabeth has emphasized that the couple remains a part of the family and even invited them to visit her at Balmoral before the pandemic set in. On social media, where most royal celebrations happen these days, the Royal Family Instagram account wished Harry a happy birthday using a casual picture showing Harry grinning at the queen in 2017.

On their account, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, chose a few older photos that show Harry mid-laugh. In one, Charles is joining in the fun at the 2014 Invictus Games, where Harry celebrated his 30th birthday.

Kate Middleton and Prince William also opted for a bit of humor in their Instagram tribute to their former third wheel. Their photo shows Harry beating Kate and William on a race track.

A mini-controversy erupted when a commenter claimed it was a snub that they chose a photo that didn’t include Meghan; by Tuesday afternoon that comment had more than 4,000 likes. Alongside a tweet where she pointed out that this is also the fifth anniversary of Harry’s beard, royal blog Gert’s Royals noted that excluding Meghan from the photos was not a snub. “Looking back at the other royal birthday tweets this year, most did not include the spouse in the photo,” the post read.

Ever since the pandemic pushed the royal family to work from home, their social media teams have been in communicating more and changing their approach. That has meant more emphasis on unseen, candid photos instead of official photography and a slightly cheekier, more personal approach. (Ironically, this meant Charles, Camilla, Kate, and William all followed in Meghan and Harry’s footsteps by changing their display names to their own names instead of their houses, Clarence House and Kensington Palace.)

Most official photos of Harry include Meghan these days, but nearly all the photos that the family chose feature a view of Harry that’s much sillier than what the general public might always see. Because Meghan and Harry are celebrating his birthday with son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor at their Santa Barbara mansion, it might take a while for us to get any new photos of Harry enjoying himself with the rest of the royals.

Kelly Thiebaud wants Britt Westbourne to ‘go through something heartwrenching’ on General Hospital

Kelly Thiebaud has delighted fans with her recent return to General Hospital as she once again steps into the role of Britt Westbourne.

And while her arrival back in Port Charles came as a pleasant surprise to viewers, it turns out the offer to return to the show was also a bit of a shock for the actress as well.

In fact, she got the offer for her latest stint on the show while camping out during the pandemic.

Kelly explained on That’s Awesome! With Steve & Bradford: ‘I was last on GH in the end of January, beginning of February. And they kind of left it to where I would recur and I was super-excited about that. But obviously that didn’t happen and then corona hit so I was like, “Well, I’m never coming back. They’re never going to remember me.”.

‘I got this random text from [executive producer Frank Valentini] out of the blue. In a spot that I happened to have service because I was out in the wilderness. And he was like, “Call me.” And so I called him.’

She continued: ‘I’ve had reservations about coming back full-time for a while and he’s been aware of that. We had a conversation and he was like, “Would you consider coming back for this amount of time?” And I was like, “Well, okay, let’s talk about this.” I think it just ended up being the right moment and it was perfect.’

But her return has been going great so far as the star gets comfortable as part of the cast again.

Speaking about her first day back, she explained: ‘It’s been awesome. My first day back was surprisingly great. I have history on that show, not to say in a negative way, but you just never know how it’s going to feel.

‘There’s new people on the show that I don’t know… it’s just a whole thing to get your body used to daytime life. And then there’s all the new protocols and masks. There was a lot happening that just I didn’t know how to prepare for but it went great.’

Britt has returned as the hospital’s new chief of staff and it looks like there might be some interesting storylines coming her way.

Kelly teased: ‘She’s been such a big kind of personality on the show. I would love to ground her a little bit and have her go through something that’s real and heartwrenching and relatable.

‘But I did just get some news from Frank that the writers wanted me to know that I’m not going to say now, but it does add an element to her that I hope they’ll do a good job playing it out.’

The actress first joined GH in 2012 before she left in 2015.

However, she has made multiple short-term appearances on the soap since then, with the most recent stint airing earlier this year.

General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC.

Chadwick Boseman is being remembered for the king and hero he truly was. The “Black Panther” star’s legacy was honoured with a heartfelt tribute during this year’s Emmy Awards.

Sunday’s ceremony showcased Boseman’s indelible mark on Hollywood, and on the lives of those he knew and worked with, in a touching moment of respect for the late star.

The tribute was presented as the conclusion to the show’s emotional “In Memoriam” segment, which honoured the many stars who have died over the last year. As H.E.R. performed a powerful rendition of “Nothing Compares 2 U,” the show played part of a speech Boseman delivered during a commencement ceremony at Howard University in 2018.

“Purpose crosses disciplines. Purpose is an essential element of you It is the reason you are on the planet at this particular time in history,” Boseman shared in the clip played during the segment. “The struggles along the way are only meant to shape you for your purpose.”

Boseman died on Aug. 28, at the age of 43. The news of his death was confirmed in a statement released to his social media pages.

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” the statement shared.⁣ “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last four years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much… It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. ⁣He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side.”

Boseman had never spoken publicly about his diagnosis, and the news came as a shock to many, and left a deep impact on the public as well as his friends and colleagues.
