Universal Orlando Temporarily Closing Several Attractions During Phased Reopening

Published

on

Universal Orlando theme parkreopened back in June, but it’s still in the process of getting the park back to normal operations. As part of their phased reopening, Universal has decided to place more attention on their marquee attractions, so they’ll be temporarily closing a handful of attractions.

These are the Universal Orlando attractions closed temporarily during the park’s phased reopening:

  • A Day in the Park with Barney
  • Fast & Furious: Supercharged
  • Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl
  • Fear Factor Live
  • Poseidon’s Fury
  • Storm Force Accelatron

Here’s the official statement from Universal Studios Orlando:

As we continue to evaluate our offerings during this phase of our reopening, we’ve decided to focus on our marquee guest experiences.  Therefore, we’re going to temporarily close the following effective Sunday, August 9: A Day in the Park with Barney, Fast & Furious: Supercharged, Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl, Fear Factor Live, Poseidon’s Fury and Storm Force Accelatron. We’re working to move team members at these experiences to other roles within Universal Orlando.

These are some of the less popular attractions at the theme park, and obviously Universal would be better served focusing their attention on the attractions that crowds are actually flocking to. Thankfully, the team members working these attractions won’t be laid off, but they’ll be relocated to other roles during this time.

Unfortunately, not everyone will be so lucky. As Universal tries to stay up and running during the coronavirus pandemic, they will be laying off another round of employees. In a statement provided to Click Orlando:

“We continue to manage our business through challenging times, focusing on the health and safety of our guests and team members and working to remain as resilient as possible. We are prioritizing daily operations and shorter-term projects and continuing our pause on longer-term projects such as Epic Universe as we allow the tourism industry to recover. We have again made the difficult decision to reduce our workforce to reflect current priorities and needs. As always, we are aware of the impact this will have on those affected by this decision and their families. We are grateful for their contribution and we will support them through this process with severance pay, subsidized health benefits and reemployment assistance. We continue to have confidence in the long term future of our business, our industry and our community.”

This news follows the announcement that Universal Orlando will also be adjusting their operating hours slightly. Starting August 2, Universal’s Islands of Adventure will be open only from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and Universal Studios Florida will be open from 9:00 A.M. to 5:oo P.M.

These sleep sets are simple and straightforward. The uncomplicated design will help put you at ease and create a peaceful ambience that’s necessary when it’s time to get your beauty rest. But the best part about these PJ sets is the material they are made from. While these jammies offer plenty of stretch, their fabric primarily consists of an all-natural bamboo.

In case you weren’t aware, fabrics made from bamboo are some of the most breathable on the market. The bamboo plant naturally keeps itself cool, and when the plant is transformed into another material, it still maintains those handy cooling properties! That’s precisely why bamboo fibers are used to create fabric that’s able to wick away moisture better than most. Oh, and let’s not forget that bamboo fabric is sustainable and eco-friendly!

Rihanna Reveals The Secret Ingredient To New Fenty Skin Line

Published

on

Rihanna — the multi-hyphenate recording artist turned beauty mogul turned body-positive fashion designer— has proven time and again that she has the diverse talent and business acumen to shake up just about every industry she steps into. On Friday (July 31), she expanded her Fenty empire, which began with the game-changing launch of Fenty Beauty’s inclusive cosmetics line in 2017, with the arrival of a new slate of skincare products, Fenty Skin.

On Tuesday (August 4), that achievement was celebrated when the Bad Girl appeared on the September cover of Harper’s Bazaar. Photographs by Gray Sorrenti depicting the artist lounging at home in Savage x Fenty lingerie and taking out the garbage while wearing opera-length gloves and a stack of diamond chokers were complemented by a story documenting the star’s meteoric rise, as well as the development process of Fenty Skin.

“I’ve always seen the Fenty brand as more than just makeup, and I knew I wanted to make skin care from the very beginning,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “It was just about getting it right. You have to live with the formulas for a while and test them in different ways. It’s very different from makeup in that sense. It takes a long time.”

Fenty Skin launched with a streamlined edit of three gender-neutral products: a cleanser, a toner serum, and a moisturizing sunscreen. Appearing in a video corresponding with her cover feature that documented her nighttime skincare routine using the new offerings, Riri reveals the secret ingredient in many of her products is surprisingly personal to her. It is Barbados cherry, named for her Caribbean home. “That ingredient is packed with a lot of Vitamin C, more Vitamin C than a whole orange,” she said. So imagine what that does for your beautiful skin.”

In fact, Riri cites childhood in Barbados and her mother as key inspirations for her work in the beauty space. “She knew everything about perfume, skin care and makeup,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “She never let me wear makeup, but I was secretly fascinated. So, when she’d leave home, I would play around with hers.”

Prince William and Prince Harry Are Having “Stilted and Difficult” Conversations Right Now

Published

on

  • Prince Harry and Prince William are in touch and having “difficult” conversations in the wake of Finding Freedom excerpts being published.
  • The biography claims William wasn’t supportive of Harry’s relationship with Meghan Markle.

Excerpts from Finding Freedom, the highly anticipated new biography about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s life, have been floating around the internet for the past few weeks—and apparently, they’ve caused some tension between Harry and his brother, Prince William.

Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family

Royal author Phil Dampier tells New Idea (via the Daily Mail) that he’s been told “the pair are speaking at the moment but the conversations are stilted and difficult.”

As a reminder, Finding Freedom digs deep into William and Harry’s relationship, claiming that William was less than welcoming when Meghan Markle joined the family and thought Harry was “blindsided by lust.”

Apparently, William also told Harry to “take as much time as you need to get to know ‘this girl,’” which Harry thought was incredibly snobby and caused him to grow “tired of the dynamic that had become established between him and his older brother.”

Meanwhile, a source previously told Us Weekly that “William thinks the book is their calculated way of controlling the narrative and that they took advantage of their entertainment contacts so they’d be painted in a favorable light.”

Welp. Here’s to hoping William and Harry work it out, because this drama is exhausting.
